Content Acceleration for Item Management

This Product Description describes the functionality and usage requirements for ContentAcceleration Managed Service (“CA”) for the Item Management Platform (“IM”) and is effective asof the date shown above. This Product Description forms part of the Contract to provide Clientwith CA. Capitalized terms used but not defined herein have the definitions assigned to them inthe 1WorldSync General Terms and Conditions.

1. Services

CA works in conjunction with 1WorldSync’s Item Management Platform. CA provides managed servicesand expert assistance to help Client acquire, aggregate, load, and maintain key elements of itemdata and content using IM, for items specifically destined for the US target market. Contentaccounted for in this managed service includes images, off-package content, and supply chainlogistical data. See Appendix A for a detailed listing of the data and content covered by thisservice.

1WorldSync will perform the following services as part of CA after Client first purchases1WorldSync’s Image Capture services:

1WorldSync will provide CA remotely. Client will make the required resource(s) available to the1WorldSync team for the duration of the CA service period and will provide the necessary contentassets and information to the 1WorldSync team in an accurate, complete and timely manner. Clientshall be responsible for approval of all item data and content provided by 1WorldSync as a partof CA to ensure that it is accurate and complete prior to syndication with Client’s TradingPartners.

2. Requirements

Other Product Subscriptions: Subscriptions with 1WorldSync to access IM are required forCA.

GS1 and GDSN Standards Adoption: In order to use CA, Client must have correctly adoptedthe applicable GS1 product identification and measurement standards. Client is strongly advisedto review the applicable documentation from both GDSN Data Excellence, Inc. and Client’s datarecipients on the preparation of Content to be published to them.

Data Entry: CA requires that Client send all item content assets including but notlimited to product specification sheets, label information, awards, certifications, to1WorldSync via email.

Image Capture: Client will need to purchase Image Capture services separately from1WorldSync.

Ongoing Maintenance: The CA service allows Client access up to one (1) hour of ongoingmaintenance during the applicable annual period for every ten (10) GTINs purchased by Client.The ongoing maintenance shall permit addition of or changes to attributes during the applicableannual period. Any additional ongoing maintenance shall be subject to a separate writtenarrangement with 1WorldSync.

Appendix A

This appendix details the specific elements of data and content that will be acquired,aggregated, and loaded into IM by the CA managed service.

Structured Data

The CA managed service is intended to account for the most commonly used attributes to supportbrick-n-mortar and online merchandising. The table below describes the attributes captured andthe layers of the packaging hierarchy to which they pertain.

Target MarketThe target market indicates the country where the trade item is available forsale. For this service, target market will default to US.
Product TypeDescribes the hierarchical level of the trade item.
Information Provider GLNPopulate this field with the 13-digit GLN of the entity responsible for thevalidity of the item information entered into 1SYNC Item Management. Theoriginal manufacturer, importer, distributor, retailer, or designated agent.
Brand Owner GLNThe Global Location Number used to identify the organization that owns thebrand. Use Gepir to look up GLN by UPC orGTIN.
Qty of Next Level Item(s)The TOTAL number of next lower level trade items that this trade item contains.For example, if there were 12 Each items contained in a Case item, the Qty ofNext Level Item(s) on the Case would be 12.
GS1 Trade Item ID Key CodeAlternative means to the Global Trade Item Number to identify a trade item.
GS1 Trade Item ID Key ValueA value for the alternative means to the Global Trade Item Number to identify atrade item.
Data Carrier Type CodeA code indicating the type of data carrier physically present on the trade item.
Consumer Unit IndicatorYes indicates this packaging level is the trade item intended for ultimateconsumption. For retail, this trade item will be scanned at point of sale. Atretail, this data is commonly used to select which GTINs should be used forshelf planning and for front end POS databases.
Base Unit IndicatorYes indicates this packaging level is the trade item that is at the lowest levelin the item hierarchy.
Invoice Unit IndicatorYes indicates this packaging level is the trade item included in the supplier’sbilling or invoice.
Ordering Unit IndicatorYes indicates that this trade item is the packaging level where the supplierwill accept orders from retailer customers. This may be different from what theinformation provider identifies as a despatch unit.
Dispatch Unit IndicatorYes indicates that this packaging level is the trade item identified as theshipping unit.
Variable Weight Trade ItemYes indicates that an article is not a fixed weight, but that the weight isvariable. Example: poultry, fresh fruit and bulk items.
Linear UoMThe unit of measure for all linear measurements.
DepthThe depth of the unit load, as measured according to the GS1 Package MeasurementRules, including the shipping platform unless it is excluded according to thePallet Type Code chosen.
HeightThe height of the unit load, as measured according to the GS1 PackageMeasurement Rules, including the shipping platform unless it is excludedaccording to the Pallet Type Code chosen.
WidthThe width of the unit load, as measured according to the GS1 Package MeasurementRules, including the shipping platform unless it is excluded according to thePallet Type Code chosen.
Gross WeightUsed to identify the gross weight of the trade item. The gross weight includesall packaging materials of the trade item. At pallet level the trade item, grossWeight includes the weight of the pallet itself.
Gross Weight UoMThe unit of measure for the “Gross Weight” attribute; required for all items.
Net WeightUsed to identify the net weight of the trade item. Net weight excludes anypackaging materials and applies to all levels but consumer unit level
Net Weight UoMUnit of measure associated with “Net Weight.”
Net ContentOnly required for the consumer unit or the EACH. The amount of the trade itemcontained by a package, usually as claimed on the label. Example: Mineral Water750ml – net content = 750 ML; 20 count pack of diapers, net content = 20 1N(Count); (GUI) or ‘true’ (Batch).
Net Content UoMThe unit of measure for the “Net Content” attribute.
Global Classification Code (GPC)Code specifying a product category according to the GS1 Global ProductClassification (GPC) standard.
Start Availability DateThe date from which the trade item becomes available from the supplier,including seasonal or temporary trade items and services.
Short Description / POS Desc. 1A short textual description associated with the product. This description can beused on the cash register receipt. This is the first line of the description.
Functional NameDescribes use of the product or service by the consumer. Should help clarify theproduct classification associated with the GTIN. Allows for the representationof the same value in different languages but not for multiple values.
Platform Type CodeIndicates whether the described despatch unit is delivered on a pallet/platformand on which type of platform. If the despatch unit is delivered on a platform,the platform type must be given here. The range of the platform types/codes islisted in code sets.
Inner Pack QuantityIndicates the number of non-GTIN assigned inner-packs of next lower level tradeitems within the current GTIN level.
Num of Items in a Complete Layer/GTIN Pallet TiIndicates the number of trade items in a layer.
Num of Complete Layers Cont in Item/GTIN Pallet HiThe number of layers that a pallet contains. Only used if pallet has no GTIN. Inthis case it applies to the highest level of the item hierarchy and only 1pallet configuration can be provided. It is highly recommended to use GTIN forpallet identification.
Alternate Item Identification IdA trade item identifier, usually associated with a specific business need, thatis in addition to the GTIN, for example, a buyer’s or seller’s item number.
Alternate Item Identification Maintenance AgencyA trade item identifier, usually associated with a specific business need, thatis in addition to the GTIN, for example, a buyer’s or seller’s item number.
Trade ChannelDescription of base unit or a packaging item’s intended trade channel.
Available TimeThe time that a specific contact for a Trade Item is available for contact.
Contact TypeThe general category of the contact party for a trade item.
Contact Info GLNThe Global Location Number (GLN) is a structured Identification of a physicallocation, legal or functional entity within an enterprise. The GLN is theprimary party identifier.
Channel CodeMeans used to communicate with another party.
Communication Channel NameThe name of a specific communication channel.
Channel NumberNumber assigned to a specific means of communication.
Communication Channel Target MarketThe code that identifies the target market. The target market is at countrylevel or higher geographical definition and is where a trade-item is intended tobe sold.
Communication Channel Target Market Subdivision CodeThe Code for country sub-division definition used to indicate the geo- politicalsubdivision of the target market (=country ).
VolumeThe dimensions of an imaginary cube which can be drawn around the trade item asdefined in the formula of H X W X D. This only applies to In-box dimensions.Level of Hierarchy applied to- All.
Volume UoMThe unit of measure for the volume of the trade item. Required if“Volume” ispopulated.
Individual Unit MinMinimum size of the individual unit inside the lowest level of packaging.
Individual Unit Min UoMUnit of measure associated with “Individual Unit Min.”
Individual Unit MaxMaximum size of the individual unit inside the lowest level of packaging.
Individual Unit Max UoMUnit of measure associated with “Individual Unit Max.”
Effective DateDate on which the master data version becomes (or became) valid.
Product DescriptionAn understandable and useable description of a trade item using brand and otherdescriptors. Allows for the representation of the same value in differentlanguages but not for multiple values.
Shipping Container Quantity DescriptionThe quantity of the contents of the shipping container as described on theoutside of the shipping container, for example 100 .5 oz envelopes
Packaging Marked ReturnableIndicates whether the packaging has markings to indicate returnable packaging(for example, a refund of aluminium cans returned to the point of purchase).Select Yes if the package markings indicate the packaging can be returned.
Has Batch NumberIndication whether the base trade item is batch or lot number requested by law,not batch or lot number requested by law but batch or lot number allocated, ornot batch or lot number allocated.
Product Marked RecyclableTrade item has a recyclable indication marked on it. This may be a symbol fromone of many regional agencies.
Number of Items/PalletThe number of trade items contained in a pallet. Only used if the pallet has noGTIN. It indicates the number of trade items placed on a pallet according tosupplier or retailer preferences.
Quantity of Next Level GTIN within Inner PackIndicates the number of next lower level trade items contained within thenon-GTIN assigned innerpack.
Temperature Condition Type CodeThe condition of the product sold to the end consumer for example thawed orfrozen.
Minimum Temperature UoMCode qualifying the type of a temperature requirement for exampleStorage.
Minimum Temperature UoMThe minimum temperature that a trade item can be held below defined by themanufacturer without affecting product safety or quality.
Minimum Temperature UoMUnit of measure for “Minimum Temperature”; dependent if “Minimum Temperature” ispopulated.
Maximum TemperatureThe maximum temperature that a trade item can be held below defined by themanufacturer without affecting product safety or quality.
Maximum Temperature UoMUnit of measure for “Maximum Temperature”; dependent if “Maximum Temperature” ispopulated.
Handling Instruction CodeDefines the information and processes needed to safely handle the trade item.
Min Product Lifespan from ProductionThe period of day, guaranteed by the manufacturer, before the expiration date ofthe product, based on the production.
Right of Return for Non-Sold Trade ItemIndicates that the buyer can return the articles that are not sold. Used, forexample; with magazines and bread. This is a true/false (Boolean) where trueequals right of return. This is at least relevant to General Merchandise,Publishing industries and for some FMCG trade item.
Order Sizing FactorA trade item specification other than gross, net weight,or cubic feet for a linetrade item or a transaction, used for order sizing and pricing purposes.
Order Sizing Factor UoMUnit of measure for “Order Sizing Factor.”
Marketing MessageMarketing message associated to the Trade item.
Consumer Storage InstructionsExpresses in text the consumer storage instructions of a product which arenormally held on the label or accompanying the product.
Consumer Usage InstructionsExpresses in text the consumer usage instructions of a product which arenormally held on the label or accompanying the product. This information may ormay not be labeled on the pack. Instructions may refer to a the how the consumeris to use the product, This does not include storage, food preparations, anddrug dosage and preparationinstructions.
Allergen Specification AgencyAgency that controls the allergen definition.
Allergen Specification NameFree text field containing the name and version of the regulation or standardthat contains the definition of the allergen.
Allergen Type CodeCode indicating the type of allergen.
Level Of ContainmentCode indicating the level of presence of the allergen.
Diet Type DescriptionFree text for indication of diet not stated in the list of diets.
Diet Type CodeCode indicating the diet for, which the product is suitable.
Diet Type SubcodeIndicates a set of agreements or a certificate name that guarantees the productis permitted in a particular diet.
Certification AgencyName of the organization issuing the certification standard orotherrequirement being met. Free text field. Example: European Union.
Certification ValueThe product’s certification standard Value. Example: 4.
Ingredient StatementInformation on the constituent ingredient make up of the product specified asone string.
Ingredient NameText field indicating one ingredient or ingredient group (according toregulations of the target market). Ingredients include anyadditives(colourings, preservatives, e-numbers, etc) that are encompassed.
Ingredient SequenceInteger (1, 2, 3…) indicating the ingredient order by content percentage of theproduct. (major ingredient = 1, second ingredient = 2) etc.
Ingredient Country of OriginThe country code (codes) indicating the country of origin of the ingredient.
Preparation StateCode specifying whether the nutrient information applies to the prepared orunprepared state of the product.
Nutrient Basis Quantity Type CodeThe type of quantity contained for example measurement, serving size, orcontainer.
Nutrient Basis QuantityThe basis amount that a nutrient is measured against when it is not servingsize.
Nutrient Basis Quantity UoMThe unit of measure for the “Nutrient Basis Quantity” attribute.
Serving SizeMeasurement Value specifying the serving size in which the information pernutrient has been stated. Example: Per 100 grams.
Serving Size UoMThe unit of measure for the “Serving Size” attribute.
Serving Size DescriptionA free text field specifying the serving size for which the nutrient informationhas been stated. For example: per 1/3 cup (42 g).
Nutrient Type CodeCode from the list of the INFOODS food component tagnames (http://www.fao.org/infoods/infoods/standards-guidelines/food-component-identifiers-tagnames/en/)identifying nutrients contained in the product.
Percentage Of Daily Value IntakeThe percentage of the recommended daily intake of a nutrient as recommended byauthorities of the target market. Is expressed relative to the serving size andbase daily value intake.
Measurement PrecisionCode indicating whether the specified nutrient content is exact or approximate.
Nutrient Quantity ContainedMeasurement value of the physicochemical characteristic.
Nutrient Quantity Contained UoMThe unit of measure for the “Nutrient Quantity Contained” attribute.
Number Of Servings Per PackageThe total number of servings contained in the package.
Preparation InstructionsTextual instruction on how to prepare the product before serving.
Preparation TypeA code specifying the technique used to make the product ready for consumption.For example: baking, boiling.
Serving SuggestionFree text field for serving suggestion.
Country of OriginThe country code (codes) in which the goods have been produced or manufactured,according to criteria established for the purposes of application of the valuemay or may not be presented on the trade itemlabel.
Does Trade Item Carry USDA Child Nutrition Label?An indication that the trade item carries a USDA approved Child Nutrition Label.The USDA Child Nutrition (CN) Labeling Program provides food manufacturers theoption to include a standardized food crediting statement on their productlabel. Labels must be approved by USDA, FNS prior to use and manufacturers musthave quality control procedures and inspection oversight that meet the FNSrequirements.Products produced in accordance with the CN Labeling Programaregenerally purchased by foodservice providers for FNS meal programs. http://www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/cnlabeling/default.htm
