Success Story
Damart specialises in comfortable, stylish clothing and footwear, as well as selling a range of household products. Part of the larger French Damartex Group, the company first launched in 1953 as a mail-order business.
Its initial products were based on the Thermolactyl fabric that the three Despature brothers behind the company had developed. Thermals remain a key focus today. The company’s UK division launched in 1965, with its headquarters established in Yorkshire two years later. Damart markets and sells its products through mail order and online. The wider Damartex group serves over 10 million customers worldwide through a range of seven in-house brands.

Damart initially introduced social proof messaging to its UK website in 2025, becoming an early customer of Taggstar’s Social Proof Pro Plan. This offers a curated range of social proof messaging for growing and specialty brands.
The initial test featured social proof messaging on the company’s PDP and cart pages and delivered a 1.91% uplift in conversion rate.
However, a year on, Damart wanted to increase product discovery for customers by extending Taggstar social proof messaging to its PLP and search results pages, as well as to drive further incremental uplifts in conversion and revenue.
Social proof messaging was added to the PLP and then tested against the PDP and Cart pages to see the impact of its wider adoption across the full funnel. Messages used on the PLP included ‘In Demand’ and ‘Great Choice’.

“The additional uplift in conversion and sales shows how powerful it is and we are pleased to have renewed our contract with Taggstar as a result.”

The addition of two messages to the PLP and search pages, including ‘In Demand’ and ‘Great Choice’, became statistically significant in 69 days, delivering a further 1.6% conversion rate uplift with 637 incremental orders, delivering a 1.73% uplift in revenue of £35,085.
In addition to the original uplift of 1.91% from the first introduction of social proof to the PDP and Cart, the new test resulted in an overall uplift of 3.51% for social proof messaging.
This resulted in an additional 700% ROI for the second test, bringing the total projected ROI across both tests to more than 1,500%.

Claire Brown, Webshop Lead at Damart, said: “Our decision to extend social proof messaging was an easy one after the success we witnessed last year with its initial introduction. The additional uplift in conversion and sales shows how powerful it is and we are pleased to have renewed our contract with Taggstar as a result.”
Peter Buckley, Chief Revenue Officer at Taggstar, said: “Taggstar’s Social Proof Pro Plan allows companies to try out social proof messaging with a curated offer of messages which, like our wider enterprise plan, are designed to deliver impressive results.
“Customers who first test it on the PDP and Cart consistently then expand its use to the PLP, seeing further uplifts in sales and conversion as a result.”
